INTENT To improve the electrical system installation to increase the safety and welfare of occupants. M3. ENERGY STAR® DISHWASHER CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION This measure is available for allocation (partial credit). Allocation should be calculated based on the total number of dishwashers in the home. Two points of credit may be awarded for installing a dishwasher than meets or exceeds the ENERGY STAR standards adopted on January 20, 2012. These standards limit the energy use of a standard-sized dishwasher to 295 kilowatt-hours per year (kWh/year) and water use to 4.25 gallons of water per cycle. To qualify for ENERGY STAR, the product must meet the standards by the date of manufacture. If the standards change during the GreenPoint Rated cycle, the dishwasher must meet the ENERGY STAR standards current at the time of purchase and installation. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater will verify installation of a qualifying product in the field and take representative photos. Documentation: The Rater must collect the dishwasher’s ENERGY STAR rating, and the level of energy and water use that meets current standard levels (according to the EPA website).
