HEADLINES
Headlines are set in Gotham Bold in upper case.
Headlines use a different Mediclinic Grey on each
horizontal line. The greys used ascend or descend
in a smooth and considered manner. There are five
greys so your headline can be up to five lines.
On light-coloured backgrounds, the darkest
grey used can be at the top or the bottom of the
headline, but should always emphasise a key word
or words. On dark-coloured backgrounds the same
principle applies with the lightest grey used.
On a Mediclinic Dark Blue background,
white can be used for the top or bottom line
to add further emphasis. The darkest grey,
Mediclinic Grey 1, should not be used.

TRANSPARENCY – IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTES
Headlines coloured with Mediclinic Grey that
sit on a photographic image must be set to
‘multiply’. This is a fsetting in design applications
such as Adobe® InDesign® or Illustrator® that makes
the text slightly transparent, so that the areas of
the image behind the type can be partially seen.
Do not set white text to multiply.

Also for headlines that sit on a photographic
image, always use the CMYK breakdowns. Using
tints of the Pantone® colour ‘multiplied’ over a
photographic image may not print as desired.
