SYSTEM FONT
Where the recipient of electronically
communicated materials does not have access
to Gotham, the system font Arial should be
used. The use of the system font will prevent
the documents changing appearance upon
receipt, thus maintaining the integrity of the
design and layout.
Arial retains some of the qualities of Gotham `
– it’s an open, clear sans serif – but lacks its
distinctive, contemporary look.
Arial Black is used for headlines and Arial Regular
is used for body copy. Arial Bold is not used for
headlines, but can be used to highlight text
within body copy.
Examples of materials in which Arial may
be used are websites, Microsoft® Word® and
PowerPoint® documents. Arial should never
be used on materials designed exclusively
for printing. These should always be
produced using Gotham.
