BRAND ARCHITECTURE:
HOSPITALS AND CLINICS
Artwork is provided for many hospital logos, but
for reasons of practicality, here is some guidance
for how to add a descriptor to our platform logo
artwork to create a Mediclinic hospital logo.
100mm
SETTING THE HOSPITAL NAME
The descriptor is set in Gotham Book upper case
in Mediclinic Grey 1. Set the text at 20pt, with a
100mm Mediclinic logo. Add +50 character
spacing to the descriptor and range right with
our logotype. Please note, each unit of the +50
character spacing is equal to 20/1000 of an em.
Ensure the descriptor is set a distance equal to
5mm below our logo, which is also the cap height
of the 20pt text.

Text set at 20pt
Logo with descriptor lock-up
Set text at 20pt, 5mm from the logotype.
Once set, scale lock-up accordingly.
Once the logo is set to these proportions, scale the
entire lock-up accordingly for your application.
IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTE
The default setting for each unit of character
spacing on Adobe® design applications such as
InDesign® and Illustrator® is 20/1000 of an em.
This unit is not the same all other applications.
For example, the default setting in Quark Xpress®
is 1/200 of an em.
Please ensure you adjust the settings of your
application to match 20/1000 of an em before
using the chracter spacings specified throughout
these guidelines.
