House Reef / Lavafinger A quick hop and“ four fin strokes”: no other top spot at Manta Diving Madeira can be reached any faster. This small, easy-to-dive cave system is also suitable for beginners. Unless a monk seal happens to drop by, one sea creature steals the show from all the others here: the roughly 40-year-old masked moray eel“ Esmeralda”.

House Reef / Arena A fantastic spot in the marine park, featuring impressive rock formations and a light-filled, ten-metre-long tunnel. Passing the large golden sponge, you drift into the amphitheatre of the arena. Impressive biodiversity; at depths of ten to 25 metres, you can see schools of bream, trumpetfish, Macaronesian groupers, many barracudas, mackerel, spider crabs, spiny lobsters and more.

House Reef / Ponta da Oliveira Dive site located beneath the viewpoint of the same name. Along the rock face, you’ ll find low-growing vegetation and all manner of marine life. Ghost crabs, starfish and reef groupers are just a few examples. At a depth of 28 metres, there is a magnificent white club anemone with cleaner shrimp. If you have a penchant for detail and macro life, this is the place for you.
