How to get there Direct flights to Funchal from many airports in Europe. There is public transport on the island, but a hire car is better for exploring remote locations.
Accommodation The Sentido Hotels Galomar and Galosol are located right by the sea, above the Manta Diving Madeira diving centre.
Diving The Manta Diving Madeira dive centre is the only ISO-certified dive school on the island and has even been honoured by the President. Divers will find six house reef sites here, situated directly within the underwater nature reserve. An aluminium speedboat( 8.50 m long with a 350 hp engine) can transport up to 14 divers to eleven further dive sites. The equipment to hire is renewed every two years; steel tanks( air, nitrox; 10 and 12 litres) with DIN mono valves. Also possible: scooter diving.
Courses According to IAC, VDST, SSI up to Dive Master, specialties and freediving courses.
