I have all of them except World at War, though I didn't play multiplayer until MW2. I've always preferred more realistic war games (like pre-confrontation SOCOM) to the more arcadish ones. When Call of Duty originally came out it was realistic because of the advanced graphics. But I'm also big on brand loyalty. I never had the money to buy every game that came out, so I stuck with the CoD series. The two big things I look for are realism and game balance. I dislike games and maps where TDM is really FFA where half the guys can't kill you. And I dislike games where 1 weapon or class loadout is so dominant that you're at a noticeable disadvantage by using something else. I'm a big fan of MW3 - the maps reward teamwork and make it that much harder for the lone wolves to succeed. The class options reward those who customize a class to dominate a type of encounter, and reward you for sticking to those types of encounters. I'd like to see the lag addressed. On the PS3 side I don't see dedicated servers as a viable option, but an option similar to Black Ops "Locale Only" where you could decide whether you wanted to look anywhere from world wide to region wide or in between might do it.
when the group changed host. When I would appear in the final killcam in practice (which was fairly often) Reign would usually tell me why I got killed and answer my questions. Xavier and Lazyness (two guys who have since moved on) spent quite a bit of time teaching me about class loadouts and strategy. I probably made the most progress learning from those two, especially Lazy.
How long have you played the Call of Duty franchise? What do you like about the games, and first person shooters in general? If you were made COD lead designer, what would you like to see in a Call of Duty game?
