C O N T I N E D: T H E Q U I E T T R A N S F O R M A T I O N
In 2024, I found out I was not just in perimenopause— I was well into menopause, nearly a decade earlier than average. Later that year, I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’ s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid.
With every shift in my health, I dug deeper. I asked more questions, sought better answers, and committed to learning how to truly support and care for my body. Each diagnosis didn’ t defeat me— it redirected me.
Q: You’ ve lost 70 pounds— but I imagine the weight you released wasn’ t just physical. What parts of your journey stretched you the most emotionally, spiritually, and physically?
A: The emotional layer was the hardest. The physical part— the eating, the movement— that eventually became discipline. But letting go of control? Releasing the guilt I carried as a woman, a mom, a wife, an entrepreneur? That constant pressure to be everything to everyone, in every moment of the day— that’ s what broke me open. It took prayer, therapy, stillness, and a lot of tears. Spiritually, I had to unlearn the idea that I had to earn healing and instead learn how to receive grace. That shift changed everything.”
Q: What did wellness mean to you before, and what does it mean to you now?
A: Before, wellness was a number, I was obsessed with the scale and came within two pounds of losing 100 pounds. But when I look back at those photos and videos, I don’ t see health— I see skin, bones … and emptiness.
Now, wellness means wholeness. It’ s feeling excited to begin my morning routine. It’ s loving the woman I’ ve become— and honoring the one I’ m still becoming. It’ s choosing to care for myself without guilt, knowing that loving my family well means not abandoning me in the process.
Q: You’ re now a certified breathwork, nutrition, wellness, and stretch & flexibility coach. What drew you to each of these modalities?
A: Each certification came into my life right when I needed it most— in God’ s perfect timing. I discovered breathwork after meeting with my new doctor and searching for a Pilates studio. It became a sacred practice that helped me honor myself and show kindness to my nervous system. Stretch and flexibility followed, complementing the breathwork and helping me move with grace again— both physically and emotionally. Wellness coaching came next, as I began to understand that my healing wasn’ t just for me; it was part of my calling to help others find their way back to wholeness. Nutrition came last, once I saw that true nourishment had to begin with the soul. When I let God guide the process, everything started to align— from the inside out.
