-See above -No use so much packaging for online products -Think about everything they throw away and if it's absolutely necessary -Use more recyclable products. -All have clothing collection banks -Use recyclable bags and use less plastic tags -Biodegradable packaging -Reducing amount of materials needed for transport and display - hangars, boxes, cages, rails etc and that they are making efforts to reduce on the materials that are needed. Ensure staff are properly trained to split recycling materials like we do at home - cardboard, plastic, polystyrene etc. And that they have a system in place to make this easily possible - people wont do it unless its straightforward, efficient and easy to accomplish. -No idea ... re use hangers? -Having worked in the retail sector I know how much wasted is created from the items of clothing. -They need to start disposing of items correctly. Reusing certain materials for repackaging stock (when required). Also liaising more with the suppliers and delivery departments to find out new methods of delivery. Obviously they have recently implemented the cost for carrier bags, but they need to start using paper bags over plastic. -Create paper bags instead of having plastic ones in order for people to be able to recycle them not sure - more packaging that can be recycled/biodegradable - similar to H&M offer rewards for consumers who do recycle e.g. money off vouchers for putting clothes in a clothes bank -Offer repairs and processes for reuse as well as easy and straightforward procedures for recycling -Use much less packaging -As a both. Use less packaging all together and more recyclable stuff -They could possibly use more recyclable items to design there fashion -Use wooden reusable hangers, paper bags, make products locally so that they don't need packaging to be shipped long distance etc -Less packaging, and reuse as much as possible -Switch to paper bags instead of plastic -Online receipts -Offer schemes to bring back old clothes and receive some sort of discount off new purchase (think -M&S do something along these lines?) -Don't double bag. Are there alternatives to plastic tag fixings? - have somewhere in store where customers could bring their unwanted garments and recycle them inshore or trade clothing with something new. - have paper packaging rather than plastic. I know people have to buy carrier bags now and this will help with recycling, but i don't think this is enough as still people are buying bags every time they go shopping. - Recycle or offer their coat hangers to customers. - Have special bins for recycling in store for customers and staff. use non-toxic dyes and recycle fabric. -Use paper bags in store and make sure they recycle all their plastic wrapping and cardboard boxes from deliveries. -If the retailers don't have any recycling bins they should have them in the stock room for example where they are more likely to have packaging around. They could not provide customers with coat hangers when they purchase a product as this reduces the amount of plastic being used and possible landfill. They could use bags out of recyclable material to cut down on the use of carrier bags. -Not much they can do! People can only does as much as they are all ready doing currently work with charities and environment NGOs who could offer advice and assistance to retailers, work with suppliers who are currently using better recycling procedures to incorporate these throughout their own company -Reduce packaging -As above -M&S give you discount if you bring old clothes back. Maybe more shops should do that. less packaging my only guess as everything these days is in a bag in a box in a bag in paper in god nose what -Reduce packaging! -Less packaging. Different packing material. -Clearer instructions, -Use biodegradable plastics and try and use cardboard / paper more than plastics as they are more sustainable XXIII
