to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name!” As the Gospel spread to Europe, persecution did as well. Our Founders came to these shores to find a New Land where they could worship God’s Presence without persecution. The United States is special to God because the people who founded her chose God! They dedicated this Land to Him to spread the knowledge of Him to other nations. From the beginning, when Christopher Columbus set sail to the New World, settlers at Jamestown planted the cross at Cape Henry and pilgrims at Plymouth Rock signed the Mayflower Compact, this land was dedicated to God and to the establishment of the Christian faith. When George Washington was inaugurated as our first president, his first act was to pray and dedicate this nation to God. On this 250th Birthday, we need to awake from sleep, like Jacob in Gen. 28:16 dream of a ladder to heaven and cry out “Surely the Lord is in this place.” We need to re-dedicate this Nation to God and His True Freedom, and renew ourselves to God’s Purpose & Presence. We need to renew ourselves to the truth shared Christmas Eve 1968, when three American astronauts orbited the moon with largest TV audience in history to that point. To look back at the blue marble of our home from a quarter million miles away read Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
B. We need True Freedom that Comes from God’s Word
Jesus says in John 8:31 True Freedom comes when you “continue in My Word”,
not in self-help programs, legalistic religion, motivating music, psychology or drug substitutes. True Freedom is found in Christ alone! Jesus is not taking about a 30 day trial of faith. Jesus is not talking about a 12-week Bible study to get free of addictions. Being “free indeed” comes from “abiding in His Word” and represents a significant, ongoing change in one's life. You can claim many paths & many opinions, but Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the Way, the Truth & the Life and no one comes to the Father but thru me.” I Timothy 2:5 says “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. The Church is responsible to influence society! We are God’s Answer for America. There are 332,000 Protestant Churches in USA with 45 million people (13% of population) attending on any given weekend. We must become carriers of God’s presence, power & holiness! Jesus says in Matt. 5:13 &15 “if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? (v. 15) “nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket…”. We must regain our salt worthiness by crying out to God for revival in our Nation, purify our lives of sin, and must stand up for the things God has told us we should be stand up for!
C. We Need the Revival Power of the Holy Spirit
Jesus in John 7:38; John 14-16 and Acts 1:8 tells us we can receive power and help from the Holy Spirit. When Filled with the Holy Spirit, everything about our lives changes! He helps us study God’s word, live holy, minister to others, and example His kingdom culture on earth. Once we come to a place of seeking the Holy Spirit’s help to be holy, we set ourselves up for Revival. We all need the Revival Power & Major Oil of the Holy Spirit. You can believe that you can dig
