NRA FREE National Firearms Museum

Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action. Admission and parking are always FREE!

Now, over in the city of Old Town Alexandria is a nice FREE unique ride and that is the King Street Trolley. What better way to see this great city than a FREE ride on a trolley and see the Old Town Historic District, or just walk the city and see 200 shops and restaurants, plus see the nearby riverfront, and see the Potomac River with all the boat traffic, plus see the city of Washington DC very nearby, which is in view. Also, see the nearby FREE National Inventors Hall of Fame Museum in town, which showcases more than 600 inventors who have been inducted into NIHF and their great technological achievements that helped stimulate growth for our nation and beyond, plus check out the FREE Torpedo Factory Art Center also in Alexandria.

This next place is the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center, located at 10209 Main St in the city of Fairfax is another FREE attraction. Explore The Fairfax Story exhibit, which follows the arc of Fairfax history, from Native American cultures to their local astronaut who traveled on the Space Shuttle. The walls are bursting with interesting local stories, and you

can view them all in about an hour! The museum plays host to traveling and special exhibits about a wide range of local history topics. After taking in the exhibits, leave your car parked and explore Old Town Fairfax on a FREE self-guided walking tour with a brochure at the visitor center.

This next FREE attraction is the NRA National Firearms Museum located at 11250 Waples Mill Road. The NRA National Firearms Museum also in Fairfax, consists of 15 galleries comprised of 85 exhibit cases housing 3,000 firearms in a 15,000-square-foot facility. The Museum details and examines the nearly 700-year history of firearms with a special emphasis on firearms, freedom, and the American experience.

This next FREE attraction is a very old historic house, and that is the Historic Blenheim House and the Civil War Interpretive Center, located at 10455
