VACATION AND TRAVEL
(The town of Hodgenville is where all my 2nd generation family were born, the Lynch’s. The Lynch farm is very close to the Lincoln farm. My 3rd great grandfather Joseph, and his wife Lydia were best friends with Abraham Lincoln's sister, Sarah.)
The next attraction will take us to the state of Indiana. This FREE attraction is his Boyhood Home National Memorial in the city of Lincoln City in Spencer County, Indiana from 1816 to 1830, when he was almost 8 years old until 21 years old. Abraham Lincoln arrived after leaving Kentucky and lived at their new farm, which is a 160-acre parcel near Little Pigeon Creek in December. There is no GPS address, so download directions to take you there.
Now, over at the Memorial Visitor Center, you need to allow at least 45 minutes to tour the Memorial Halls, and Museum, and watch the 14-minute orientation film, which tells of the boyhood of Abraham Lincoln, who grew
Once outside there are over 2 miles of hiking trails, which I walked during fall time in October. The Lincoln Boyhood Trail connects the Pioneer Cemetery to the Lincoln Living Historical Farm. The Trail of Twelve Stones begins at the Living Historical Farm and ends near the Pioneer Cemetery. The two trails form a loop of about one mile. The Boyhood Nature Trail loops one mile through the woods north of the Living Historical Farm.

The Tavern Visitor Center at Knob Creek Farm
Now, the Lincoln Living Historical Farm is a working pioneer homestead with a log cabin, outbuildings, split rail fences, livestock, gardens, and field crops. Rangers dressed in period clothing performed a variety of activities typical of daily life in the 1820s.
Also, over at the nearby Pioneer
will see the Tavern Visitor Center. there they have exhibits to view, and a log cabin outside like the one he lived in. These last 2 attractions are all FREE.
