The First Lincoln Memorial Birthplace Building

Visit the water source for the Lincoln family and the feature from which the farm received its name. Also, see the site of the Boundary Oak. In December 1808, Thomas Lincoln bought this farm. The tree served as a boundary marker and survey point for determining the property lines. I found this property to be a great place just to take a stroll.

After leaving here, they have the nearby Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek. The Lincoln family lived there on 30 acres of the 228-acre Knob Creek Farm from the time Abraham was two and a half until he was seven and a half years old, which is very near his birthplace, about 10 miles. This next article is a labor of love due to my relationship with Abraham Lincoln. I will show a timeline of all the attractions along the way that have to do with Abraham Lincoln, from Kentucky to Indiana to Illinois, where he lived as an adult before becoming the 16th President of the United States. All these attractions I will mention have been visited by me more than once, but to keep the article interesting I will name just the most popular ones. We will start in Kentucky where he was born on February 12, 1809, to Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks.

Now, over at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is the Birthsite where his life began over at 2995 Lincoln Farm Road in the city of Hodgenville. There at the visitor center, you will watch a park film, view exhibits in the museum, and learn more about the park.
