There are some people who take RV road trips and visit all of these parks in one vacation, but you really have to enjoy seeing all of the different rock formations and be prepared for all of the hiking involved. I personally visited three of these ten parks, and fortunately, the ones we did see happened to be some of the most popular and memorable ones.

best-preserved cliff dwellings of the Pueblo people, dating back more than 1,400 years ago, which we were able to witness up close. After our visit, we stayed outside the park at Pine River Lodge near Durango.

The park offers many guided tours that allow visitors to explore these incredible cliff dwellings, along with additional hiking opportunities that do not require a guide. If hiking is not your thing, there is also a beautiful scenic drive that takes you throughout the National Park. Along the route, there are many pull-offs and short hikes leading to ancient Native dwellings.

The National Park also operates one campground with many amenities and one fairly priced lodge, along with a restaurant for visitors. This park is also home to many species of large wildlife, including elk, black bears, mountain lions, and numerous species of birds.

Lastly, I could not fit Great Basin National Park in this article as the 10th park, but it is the least visited of all the parks and is
