Often you hear people say, “I’m good” when asked how they are doing. But when measuring what we could be if we let God do a deeper work in us…its time to say God change me! We can’t let culture define our moral goodness or our eternal readiness! In 1577 Sir Francis Drake wrote: “Disturb us, Lord, When with the abundance of things we possess, we have lost our thirst for the waters of life; Having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity.” These words set a backdrop to Jesus’ words in John 7:37-39 as He calls us to...
I. BECOME STATURATED AND IMMERSED IN GOD’S CHARACTER AS
A CARRIER OF HIS PRESENCE
Take a hard sponge and try to use it. You will find it much easier when it is put in a bucket of water and has time to soak and absorb water. In the same way if we want to be all God has called us to be, it takes time soaking in His presence to become pliable and empowered for His use. Daily Communion with God is the key to living the kind of empowered and authentic Christian life we see modeled in scripture. Intentionally welcome the
Holy Spirit into your thoughts and actions every day. As you begin the day, welcome the Holy Spirit to re-fill you so you can walk by the Spirit under His power and purpose and not after the flesh. Ask Him to saturate every area of your life. The closer you draw to Him you become a carrier of God’s Spirit! Jesus said in John 7:38 “He who believes in Me (connects in Me) as the scripture said, From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water”.
II. LET THE HOLY SPIRIT AWAKEN YOUR PERSONALITY WITH GOD’S
Let the Spirit CHANGE how you think.
Stop entertaining the things of the world because Satan uses fear, attitudes, impressions and imaginations in your mind to defeat you. To live in Revival you must allow the Overflowing Spirit of Revival to break up Satan’s schemes in your mind. To live in an atmosphere of faith and power, its necessary you allow the Spirit to change how you THINK!
