Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park Building ( a good starting point)
A very short distance away is the “Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center,” located at 2380 Memorial Road at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the city of Fairborn, which is also FREE of charge. There is a video shown and exhibits available. The flying field is next to the interpretive center where Orville and Wilber Wright did their aviation testing. Over nearby at the Woodland Cemetery located at 118 Woodland Avenue in Dayton is where you will find the tombstones of both of the Wright Brothers as well as other notable figures. Free self-guided tours with headsets are available at the office.
If you like watching how things are made then drive over to the “Velvet Ice Cream Company” located at 11324 Mount Vernon Road in the city of Utica. You will receive a FREE 30 minute guided tour with this company, which is over 100 year old. See their website for tour hours or any other information. This factory is an old Historic Mill with a water wheel. This place also has events happening all the time with FREE entertainment on Sundays. This place is located in the middle of the state which has a gift shop, museum and restaurant onsite.

International Woman’s Air & Space Museum
This next attraction is the “International Woman’s Air & Space Museum” located at 1501 North Marginal Road, in Downtown Cleveland right on Lake Erie, at the Burke Lakefront Airport in one of the terminal buildings in Room 165. Parking here is a small fee of $6 dollars but the attraction itself is FREE of charge.
