1. Brasov
Brasov city is situated in Brasov County, Transylvania. There are a lot of
attractions that make this city famous.
Other than the ski resorts, the city is famous for the Black Church, which is
one of the most representative monuments of gothic architecture. The church
name comes from the fact that it was partially destroyed in 1689 during a big
fire, and the walls remained dark.
Another important places are the Council Square (here takes place the
Golden Stag Festival), the String Street (called this way because of the small
width – 1 m), the Weavers’ Bastion, the Schei Gate, the Catherine Gate,
Black Tower, and of course the ski resort, Brasov Meadow (Poiana Brasov).
