DESERT SAFARIS
You haven’t seen Dubai until you’ve
experienced a desert safari, a real ‘must
do’. There are lots of companies offering
exciting packages, which include camel
rides, henna painting, sand surfing, dune
buggies, dressing up in a dishdasha or
abaya and magnificent displays from a
local falconer. For the more adventurous,
you could even try dune bashing, where
you race over the sand dunes in a 4x4.
In the evenings, you could be relaxing
in a traditional Bedouin camp, smoking
shisha and indulging in a local barbeque
while a belly dancer provides authentic
entertainment. Some companies even offer
overnight stays, where you can explore
the desert night sky in all its glory and
watch the sun rise over the sand dunes in a
private tent.
