Norwood is also family business , operated by Casey Mattingly and his family , including his four children . It is owned by his father-in-law , who purchased it in 1978 .
“ It ’ s like Cheers , you want to go where everybody knows your name ,” he said , explaining what makes Norwood special .
The sense of being part of a family is something Mattingly hopes customers feel when they walk through the doors . It ’ s a fun place for folks to come and enjoy the nostalgic décor and family atmosphere , trusting they are safe and secure .
Parents can let their kids mosey alone as Mattingly and others keep a watchful eye .
“ We can see everything from this ( front ) counter ,” Mattingly said .
Norwood is equipped with a snack bar with all sorts of food and drink options .
The alley open Tuesday to Thursday from 4 to 10 p . m ., Friday , 5 to 10 p . m ., Saturday , noon to 10 p . m . and Sunday , 4 to 9 p . m .
Each game is $ 4 per person and shoe rentals are $ 3 per person .

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving , Championship was filled to the brim with bowlers for the Motiv Tuesday Night Open .
During the night , bowlers enjoyed ice cold beers , sodas and cocktails as well as food items such as nachos , tenderloin sandwiches and burgers from Blaze Brew Pub , the restaurant inside the alley .
