For a county of approximately 130,000 people , Madison County has no shortage of talented persons of all ages pursuing and taking part in the arts . Musical theatre in particular , is a genre that is active and well . Anderson boasts three companies providing everything from Shakespeare to Sondheim and everything in between .
The Alley Theatre , a “ fall to spring ” company , produces a show to be enjoyed the middle of every month from November through March . To close out their 2023-2024 regular season is the world premiere of Fall River : A Lizzie Borden Musical written , scored , and directed by Anderson ’ s own Rick Vale .
