In memory of Dennis . A beautiful soul , who showed kindness and caring with much respect to me-rest in peace my friend .

From my earliest memories , Dennis was always there at Yanchep providing adventures in the water or on land and played a role in shaping who I am today and giving me a broader perspective of the world around me . Whether collecting abalone from the reef , pulling pots from a tinny launched in the Lagoon , netting or spearing fish , catching crabs , snorkelling , scuba diving , shooting rabbits , making honey , harvesting a crop , cracking a whip , turning wood into something amazing or sharing stories of camping and 4WD adventures , there was always something happening , and it was always exciting to see him . He ’ s left his mark on so many people and will be sorely missed .

One of my treasured memories as a kid was when we had a family day in Yanchep , Dennis had set up a Games day on the oval behind their house . All the cousins were there , Aunties , Uncles , everyone , it was absolutely so much fun . There were all sorts of events set up , running races , egg and spoon runs , tunnel ball , hula hoops and even a big ice block with a looped rope handle .
Then later in life after chatting about shared hobbies , our love of the ocean , wood working , we stumbled into metal detecting / prospecting with Dennis and Cathy . Hearing about all their stories and travels and interests were inspiring . We will treasure what you guys shared with us .

I admired the way Dennis saw the potential to create something special from wood . Headed the Remembrance book stand in St James Anglican Church in Alkimos . Thanks Dennis we are grateful , we will meet again .
