The passing of Dennis marks the loss of one of life ’ s true gentlemen . Over 15 years ago , Dennis and Cathy graciously stepped in to relief manage the Gracetown Caravan Park , quickly becoming pillars of trust and dependability . With his calm presence , Dennis brought a sense of ease to everything he did . Norm and Michael often joked that every time we returned from holiday , the park looked better then when we had left it -a testament to Dennis ’ dedication and hard work . When Norm suddenly fell ill , Dennis and Cathy didn ’ t hesitate for a moment to help , which was so appreciated more than they will ever know . Dennis was an incredibly hard worker and his kindness will never be forgotten .

Having only known Dennis since November 2022 you ’ d think that we ’ re a little unqualified to contribute any meaningful thoughts or feelings on a day where everyone ’ s thoughts are crowded with feelings and emotions from experiences dating back years .
The first time Lěa and I met Dennis was when he and Cathy were walking home ( surprise , surprise ) from an early morning swim down at the Lagoon . Typically , he was quiet , mainly listened but came across as a sincere and likeable person . In very quick time we all started to get to know each other and soon learned that this man was totally sincere and genuine in every way . They say , “ still waters run deep ,” and we experienced a man who may have been quiet and calm by nature but his love for Cathy and family was as strong and deep as you could ever imagine and , in the stories , told during our frequent get togethers this ran throughout the term of their adult lives and marriage .
Not only was Dennis the quintessential father and husband but he shared a committed love of nature with Cathy and from the stories told , being outdoors communing with it and the adventures that came their way filled their lives . He was also always ready , willing and able to help anyone and everyone in the community who needed help with any project . And he loved sharing and teaching his knowledge of all things natural : He taught me how to raise and farm bees , prune Fig trees and more .
We ’ re totally in awe at what we managed to cram into such a short history together , Dennis will always be remembered as a loving , caring and sharing man . A father , friend and mentor of the highest order .
This parting comes with nothing but complete and total sadness for us and respecting the same for Cathy and family . Dennis you will continue to inspire our lives .
