Habitat:
Found on well drained sites in sun and shade from British Columbia to southern california; eastward toward Idaho (Randall et al 1988).
Erect, loosely branched shrub to 15' tall. Leaves 3/4" to 2 1/2" long, oval; green and minutely pubescent beneath; margins coarsely toothed, shallow lobed abd serrated. Flowers small white clusters on dense terminal clusters. Fruit light brownm tiny one seeded follicle. Tig slender and smooth, slightly ribbed when young (Randall et al 1988).
