Young Enterprise
Written by Mrs Thomson
This year, I have been delighted to support 3 highly innovative Young Enterprise companies operating within S6. Our first company, TOTEally, has been producing eye-catching tote bags featuring a fantastic range of patches. Their products include bespoke, personalised bags with names, alongside popular themed designs such as Christmas and Taylor Swift totes. Bright, sustainable, and environmentally friendly, these bags help reduce the use of plastic shopping bags and are a practical must have for any home or car. The second company, Stangelo Co, created high quality glass coasters personalised with family and pet photographs, school logos and festive images. Available individually or as sets, each order is beautifully presented in a gift bag, with many items made to order. Purchasing one coaster often led customers to return for further purchases due to bright colours and high standard of the finished product.
Our third and final company, BOX2BOX, initially launched with mystery football tops being offered in any size the customer wished. Due to strong demand both in and out of school, they responded to customer feedback and expanded their range to include rugby tops as well. This adaptability, combined with a creative and engaging marketing campaign, has contributed greatly to their success. Every customer is thrilled with the anticipation of unveiling their mystery box. This is the first year we have had 3 Young Enterprise companies running simultaneously, each demonstrating unique strengths. Throughout their trading period, the students have shown resilience, excellent communication with suppliers and customers, and a genuine passion, enthusiasm and commitment to their businesses. All three companies attended the local Christmas event, Wintertainment, in Troon, where they received fantastic support from the community. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and, as the day progressed, grew in confidence— finding their voice and engaging customers with their business stories. They are now entering the final stage of their Young Enterprise journey, where they will present their businesses to a panel of judges. Please take the opportunity to speak with them about their experiences and congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.
