General Meeting Minutes

Secretary ’ s Report : Liz Bauer Motion made by Paul Miller ( Boot Jack Saddle Club ), seconded by Dorene Marroquin ( Cannon Falls Ridge Riders ) to approve March 5 th , 2023 General Meeting Minutes . Motion carried unanimously .

Balance Sheet and Income Statement was presented , YTD Net Income ( Loss ) is $ 152,817.68 and LYTD Net Income ( Loss ) was ($ 24,354.76 ). Motion made by Roy Johnson ( Owatonna Saddle Club ), seconded by Nicole Rodenborg ( Midstate Saddle Club ), to accept the Treasurer ’ s Report subject to audit from October 29 , 2023 . Motion carried unanimously .
Committee Reports :
Championship Horse Show : James Duenow James gave a thorough report of the unofficial profit / loss for the 2023 Champ Show . Numbers are unofficial due to waiting for a few things to come in . 833 exhibitors , up 118 from 2022 . 893 horses , up 88 from 2022 . 3,919 entries , up 684 from 2022 . 1,154 pleasure entries , up from 975 from 2022 . 2,765 game entries , up about 500 from 2022 . If we did not add Ranch classes , we would have been down in the pleasure entries . We have received lots of positive feedback on ranch classes as well as jackpots and side pots . Unofficial income for 2023 is $ 274 , 425 . Huge thanks to Rachel and her team for bringing in sponsorships , especially saddle clubs for donating . Electrical and parking brought in $ 32 , 271 . Class entries brought in $ 113,957 . Stalling brought in $ 67 , 229 . Vendor space was up , bringing in $ 12,617 . Unofficial total expense was $ 210,394 . WSCA Champ Show gives out close to $ 60,000 worth of awards and prizes . Biggest expense is the State Fair bill and its growing each year . Unofficial projected profit ( waiting on State Fair for Final Bill ) is $ 64,031 . Special thanks to Board members and committee members and WSCA volunteers for their huge effort this year . Kevin Berger gave a compliment on how well the grounds were maintained , and the fact that the show remained on time even with the extra arena work . James presented an award to Steve Tibbets , for his 21 plus years to WSCA as Champ Show Chair . He has been a large part of shaping Champ Show into what it is today . Thank you Steve .
Elections : Board of Directors Candidates :
Paul Hansen ( Little Mountain Wranglers ), Julie Gintner ( Minnesota Valley Riders Saddle Club ) and James Duenow ( Jus ’ Kiddin ’ Around Saddle Club )
Nominations from the floor : Steve Tibbets ( Hollywood Riders ) nominated Karson Duncanson ( Sterling Knoll Saddle Club ). Karson accepted . Julia Northwick ( Painted Sunrise Saddle Club ) nominated Alaina Dettling ( Cannon Falls Ridge Riders ). Alaina accepted .
Kevin Berger called for any further nominations 3 times . With no further nominations from the floor , nominations for the Board have been closed .
Ballots were taken and James Duenow , Julie Gintner , Karson Duncanson and Paul Hanson will be on the Board of Directors .
