How is Ocean Hypoxia Caused?
There are some very serious causes of ocean hypoxia that are built into our infrastructure. Nitrogen and phosphorous runoff from agricultural activity are the primary culprits, but sewage, vehicular and industrial emissions, and even natural factors also play a role in the depletion of oxygen in our oceans (Zielinski, 2014)
