Primary School May Highlights
A busy half term will include our swimming galas, the DCA school discos, class assemblies and the DCA Family Sports Day
I hope the half term break was enjoyed by all; the children have returned looking fresh faced and ready for action!
Although it is a relatively short half term, we have a busy 5 weeks ahead of us. The highlights, looking ahead, are our swimming galas, which will take place on 19th-23rd June for the Primary School and Tuesday 27th June for Nursery. Years 3-6 are invited to attend the DCA school discos, which are after school on 22nd June( get your boogie shoes out girls and boys!). As well as this, we are looking forward to class assemblies from RLM / RDP and 4JC and 4 / 4HJ on Friday, 16th June. Our final class assembly of the school year will be hosted by NFD, NSU and NJM on Friday 23rd June. Please do come along and support your children. Of course we would love to see you all at the Family Sports Day on Saturday 17th June. Thanks in advance to the DCA for arranging this( and the discos), it is promising to be a knock out event which I am looking forward to attending myself.
Many of you are starting to think about the year ahead and are asking questions about classes for the next academic year. Please be assured that the teachers do put considerable time and effort into making up the classes and have clear guidance on how to do so. Overall, we look at a balance of genders, nationalities, ability and English language levels; friendships also feature heavily in the criteria for re-classing. Unfortunately, we are not able to take requests for a particular teacher and ask that you trust us in placing each child into an
environment in which they will thrive. All our teachers are excellent and our new teachers arriving in August are equally so. Towards the end of the term, we will be sending out a profile of the teacher who will be teaching your child from August so you can find out a little about them and prepare your child in advance.
As always, do contact me if you have any questions.
More information will be coming your way on all these events. Wishing you a pleasant half term ahead.
Best regards,
Kara Lebihan Head of Primary School
