Minnesota State Capitol Tour
After three years of repair and restoration, the State Capitol is open for guided tours. Explore the Capitol's
history, art and architecture. You will visit the Senate and House Chambers where government decisions
are made, see the Governor's reception room, as well as the grand floor and magnificent rotunda spaces.
Weather permitting, you will have an opportunity to see the famous Quadriga (golden horses) on the
roof of the Capitol. Lunch follows at Yarusso’s where you will enjoy the pasta, pizza and salad bar buffet.
This tour is a great complement to the Adult Academy presentation Our Minnesota State Capitol from
Groundbreaking Through Restoration on page 9 of this brochure.
Tour departs at 10:15 am from Oak-Land Middle School parking lot and returns to the same location at
approximately 2:00 pm. Fee includes school bus transportation, Capitol tour, all inclusive lunch and tour
host. Cancellation policy: a $10 processing fee will be deducted from the refund when cancelling before
October 3. No refunds after this date.

The Bell Museum & the Dairy & Meat Salesroom
Take this opportunity to be among the first visitors through the doors of the new Bell Museum that opened on the
University of Minnesota St. Paul campus in July 2018. This natural history museum has been preserving and celebrating
the state since 1872. Now at its new location, the museum brings together science, art and the environment with a
unique Minnesota perspective. Take a guided tour through the exhibit
galleries including the world-renowned wildlife dioramas, second floor green roof and sustainable
landscaping (weather permitting), and the solar station. Your trip is not complete without exploring
the cosmos in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium.
Next stop, the University of Minnesota Dairy and Meat Salesroom. After a quick tour of the dairy
plant, you’ll have time for a little shopping. Choose from a large selection of cheeses, ice cream and
frozen yogurt, almost any cut of beef, pork and lamb as well chicken and turkey, sausages, jerky and
meat patties. Bring an insulated bag or cooler and cash or credit card.
The tour leaves Gladstone at 12:45 pm and returns to the same location at approximately 5:45 pm.
Fee includes school bus transportation, guided tour of the museum and dairy plant,
and planetarium presentation. Any purchases are optional and on your own. Register
by Oct. 1. No refunds after this date. A $10 processing fee will be deducted from the
refund when canceling before Oct. 1.

Savor, Stroll & Experience Hudson
Experience the unique tastes and unforgettable charm of historic downtown Hudson on a guided walking and food tour.
During your three-hour tour, you’ll sample signature dishes from six award-winning, popular destinations, plus learn the
rich history of the town and stroll along the banks of the scenic St. Croix River. Meet your tour guide at 1:15 pm at Winzer
Stube (parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant or on the street. Access to this restaurant is by stairs only).
The tour begins promptly at 1:30 pm, lasts until 4:30 pm, and is held rain or shine. The restaurants are about a block
apart and the full tour encompasses a walking distance of approximately one mile over the 3 hours. No refunds less than
