HIDE YOUR DAUGHTERS

In light of the recent marriage between Othello and Desdemona, we wanted to bring you another side of the story. Brabantio is Desdemona's father and is a victim of his daughter's disobedience and betrayal. Desdemona snuck away in the middle of the night by Othello and was soon thereafter married to the General. Brabantio was so shocked and hurt that when he was asked to house his daughter while Othello was at war, he said "I will not have it so" (I.iii.). He even went as far as to warn Othello: "Look to her, Moor, if thou hast eyes to see; she has deceived her father, and may thee" (I.iii.). We would like to give our prayers to Brabantio as he recovers from losing yet another family member.
