I attended both We Day Toronto and We Day Vancouver last year. National We Day this year is on April 9, 2014. Being honoured with a Social Action Award from the Me to We Organization last year was a memorable moment. Seeing so many young people in the arena ‘making a difference’ in their global community or school is a something that we hope continues to move forward. If we could all do daily RAKs (Random Act of Kindness) for someone you know or don't know, it could be the start of a happier day for someone. Open a door. Give a smile to someone you don’t know. Buy someone a hot chocolate. Pay it forward. Take time to enjoy the sunshine. I remember a day in September 2012 that Amanda and I went to Whiterock B.C. to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. It was a day of taking ‘selfies’ and unbelievably to me at the time, so much fun. I will never forget that day as it was the first time in in a long time that I saw Amanda in the carefree, relaxed and happy state that she once felt. Even walking through the shops and eating in a restaurant, she was calm and less anxious. She even mentioned that throughout the day. She was learning what to do to feel better. On that day, it was to look at the sun, look at the ocean and just By Randy Ketterling, MEd., Psychotherapist breathe deeply. I have yet to return to Whiterock for a visit only because it is too painful and it still hurts to not have her with me. Missing you Princess Snowflake!!!
