I attended both We Day Toronto and We Day
Vancouver last year. National We Day this year is
on April 9, 2014. Being honoured with a Social
Action Award from the Me to We Organization last
year was a memorable moment. Seeing so many
young people in the arena ‘making a difference’ in
their global community or school is a something
that we hope continues to move forward.
If we could all do daily RAKs (Random Act of
Kindness) for someone you know or don't know, it
could be the start of a happier day for someone.
Open a door. Give a smile to someone you don’t
know. Buy someone a hot chocolate. Pay it
forward.
Take time to enjoy the sunshine. I remember a day
in September 2012 that Amanda and I went to
Whiterock B.C. to enjoy the sunshine and warm
weather. It was a day of taking ‘selfies’ and
unbelievably to me at the time, so much fun. I will
never forget that day as it was the first time in in a
long time that I saw Amanda in the carefree,
relaxed and happy state that she once felt. Even
walking through the shops and eating in a
restaurant, she was calm and less anxious. She
even mentioned that throughout the day. She was
learning what to do to feel better. On that day, it
was to look at the sun, look at the ocean and just

breathe deeply. I have yet to return to Whiterock
for a visit only because it is too painful and it still
hurts to not have her with me. Missing you
Princess Snowflake!!!
