Managing construction on a live school campus has required detailed planning. During the Easter 2025 break, more than 60 classrooms and 15 offices were relocated into temporary accommodation, allowing demolition and the main construction phase to begin while minimising disruption to teaching.
Recent progress updates show the project continuing to advance at pace. Demolition of the original buildings has been completed, steelwork has been erected and prefabricated façade panels with integrated windows are now being installed onto the new structures, marking the transition from groundwork to the visible construction of the replacement campus.
The redevelopment represents a long-term investment in educational infrastructure rather than a simple building replacement. By addressing decades of incremental expansion through a purpose-designed campus, the project will provide Greenshaw High School with facilities that better reflect the size of its student population and the demands of contemporary secondary education. When complete, the new buildings will form the centrepiece of a reconfigured campus designed to serve future generations of pupils while creating a more spacious, efficient and sustainable learning environment.
