CG Fry & Son is delivering the first collection of homes at Welborne Garden Village, bringing traditional craftsmanship and sustainable design together within one of the UK’ s most ambitious new community developments.
The first homes by CG Fry & Son are now taking shape at Welborne Garden Village, marking an important stage in the creation of a new settlement that will eventually provide around 6,000 homes alongside schools, healthcare, employment space and extensive public green space. Situated between Fareham, the South Downs National Park and the Hampshire coast, Welborne has been conceived as a modern interpretation of the Garden City movement, where homes, landscape and community facilities are planned as a single, integrated place.
CG Fry & Son is one of three regional housebuilders selected to deliver the first residential neighbourhoods at Welborne. The family-owned company has built more than 1,000 homes at Poundbury in Dorset and was chosen for its experience in delivering traditionally designed neighbourhoods with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and long-term place-making.
The company’ s first phase includes a range of one and two-bedroom apartments together with two, three, four and five-bedroom houses. The homes have been designed in accordance with Welborne’ s detailed Design Code, developed by Town Architect Ben Pentreath, drawing inspiration from Hampshire’ s architectural traditions together with Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts influences.
