123 designed and built to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, with environmental measures extending beyond the buildings themselves. Green and brown roofs, extensive soft landscaping and biodiverse planting contribute to ecological enhancement across the site, while the landscaped podiums provide valuable communal space for residents and strengthen the relationship between the built environment and the surrounding public realm.
Delivering six interconnected residential blocks within an active regeneration area requires careful coordination between construction activities, logistics and neighbouring phases of development. McAleer & Rushe’ s design and build approach enables close collaboration between consultants and delivery teams throughout the programme, helping maintain quality while managing the complexities associated with high-density urban construction. The project team includes Jestico + Whiles as planning architect, Leach Rhodes Walker as delivery architect, Engenuiti as structural engineer and Caldwell Consulting as mechanical and electrical engineer.
Construction has continued to make strong progress since work began. Recent project updates have highlighted the advancement of the external envelope, with brickwork nearing completion, scaffolding progressively being removed, balcony installations underway and landscaping works commencing. These milestones indicate the project is moving steadily into its later construction phases as attention shifts towards internal fit-out and completion.
Greenwich Millennium Village has long been recognised as a benchmark for sustainable urban regeneration, combining residential development with public spaces, schools, transport links and environmental improvements. Plots 401 and 403 represent the latest chapter in that transformation, extending the established neighbourhood while providing homes that respond to contemporary expectations for sustainability, design quality and community living.
For McAleer & Rushe, the project demonstrates the contractor’ s expertise in delivering complex, high-density residential developments within some of the UK’ s most significant regeneration programmes. As construction progresses towards its planned completion, the new homes at Greenwich Millennium Village will further strengthen one of London’ s most successful long-term urban regeneration initiatives, providing high-quality accommodation while continuing the evolution of this landmark riverside community.
