MCALEER & RUSHE- GREENWICH MILLENIUM VILLAGE
McAleer & Rushe is delivering the latest residential phases of Greenwich Millennium Village, constructing 203 sustainable homes that continue the long-term regeneration of one of London’ s most significant brownfield redevelopment projects.
Work is progressing on Plots 401 and 403 at Greenwich Millennium Village, where McAleer & Rushe has been appointed to deliver two new residential phases as part of the landmark masterplan on the Greenwich Peninsula. The £ 76.5 million contract will provide 203 new homes across six contemporary podium buildings, reinforcing the vision of creating a sustainable mixed-tenure community on the former industrial site.
The development occupies part of Parcel 4 within the wider Greenwich Millennium Village masterplan, a 300- acre regeneration project that has transformed former brownfield land beside the River Thames into a thriving residential neighbourhood. Positioned on the southwestern corner of the village, the latest phases continue the area’ s evolution through the delivery of high-quality homes supported by generous landscaping and modern community infrastructure.
McAleer & Rushe commenced construction in January 2024, with completion scheduled for spring 2026. The scheme comprises six buildings ranging from four to seven storeys in height and has been designed to create an attractive, pedestrian-friendly environment centred around landscaped communal podiums. Ground-floor secure parking is incorporated within both phases, allowing the elevated podium gardens to provide residents with accessible outdoor amenity space while contributing to the overall quality of the development.
The project delivers a carefully balanced housing mix. Plot 401 will provide 104 private apartments for sale, while Plot 403 comprises 99 affordable homes for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Across both phases, the development includes a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and maisonettes, with each home benefiting from a private balcony or terrace. This combination of market and affordable housing reflects the long-term objective of creating a diverse and inclusive residential community.
Sustainability has been embedded throughout the design and construction of the scheme. The homes are being
