107 digital infrastructure, flexible indoor and outdoor learning spaces, and an assembly hall with retractable tiered seating capable of accommodating up to 350 pupils. Outside, all-weather pitches, grass playing fields and multi-use games areas will also be available for community use beyond the school day.
Construction reached an important milestone with the topping out ceremony held in March 2025, marking completion of the building’ s highest structural point. Pupils joined representatives from Fife Council, BAM Construction and the wider project team to celebrate the achievement, highlighting the close involvement of the future school community throughout the programme.
The project has also provided opportunities beyond the construction site itself. Inverkeithing High School pupils have participated in work experience placements with BAM Construction, offering first-hand insight into careers in construction and the delivery of major infrastructure projects while their new school is being built.
Once complete, Caledonia High School will provide a modern learning environment that reflects changing approaches to education while setting a new benchmark for sustainable school design in Scotland. For Fife Council, the development represents more than a replacement school. It is a long-term investment in educational infrastructure that combines low-carbon construction, flexible teaching spaces and community facilities within a campus designed to serve generations of learners.
FES Group is proud to have worked with Fife Council and BAM Construction to deliver Caledonia High School
