65 and modern methods of construction will play a role in delivery of the Wrotham scheme, helping improve construction efficiency and reduce waste.
Construction planning has been developed around maintaining school operations throughout the programme. Phased delivery and temporary accommodation arrangements are expected to allow teaching activity to continue safely while redevelopment works progress across the live campus environment.
The project forms part of broader investment in educational infrastructure within Kent, where several schools are undergoing refurbishment or replacement under national rebuilding and condition improvement programmes. Wrotham School serves pupils from across Tonbridge and Malling and surrounding communities.
Once complete, the redevelopment is expected to provide upgraded classrooms, specialist teaching facilities and improved sports provision within a more energy-efficient campus. The rebuilt school will replace buildings which in some cases date back several decades and no longer meet current educational or environmental standards.
Enabling and pre-construction activity is expected to continue ahead of the main build phase, with BAM coordinating delivery alongside the Department for Education and school leadership teams. The project represents one of the largest recent education construction investments within the local area.
