The FE McWilliam Gallery redevelopment forms part of broader investment in arts and tourism infrastructure across Northern Ireland. Local authority representatives have highlighted the project’ s role in supporting cultural participation, visitor growth and economic activity within Banbridge and the surrounding region.
Alongside its permanent FE McWilliam collection, the gallery hosts temporary exhibitions, events, workshops and community programmes throughout the year. The
expansion is intended to increase operational flexibility and allow the venue to broaden its exhibition programme and public engagement activities.
Construction is continuing on site with the project progressing through its main build phase. Once complete, the expanded FE McWilliam Gallery & Studio will provide enhanced cultural facilities designed to support artists, visitors and educational activity while strengthening the venue’ s position within Northern Ireland’ s contemporary arts sector.
