A former adventure playground site in Low Hill is being transformed into a new council housing development, with Morro Partnerships nearing completion on 24 highly efficient homes for Wolverhampton City Council.
The Old Fallings Crescent development in Wolverhampton is approaching completion, bringing a mix of new council homes to a previously unused brownfield site in the Low Hill area. Delivered by Morro Partnerships for Wolverhampton City Council and designed by BM3 Architecture Limited, the project replaces the former Peach Tree adventure playground and disused garages with a new residential community focused on accessibility and low-energy living.
The scheme will provide 24 homes in a variety of sizes and layouts, including detached and semi-detached houses, bungalows and apartments. The mix ranges from twobedroom homes through to larger four and five-bedroom family properties, helping address differing housing requirements within the city’ s council housing stock.
Accessibility has been a major consideration in the design of the development. Four bungalows have been built specifically for wheelchair users, while a further four houses include specialist features such as through-floor lifts and adjustable kitchens. These homes have been planned to support long-term independent living and respond to growing demand for adaptable accommodation.
Construction has progressed using timber frame methods, allowing the project team to accelerate assembly while improving thermal performance and reducing waste. Solar photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle charging points are being installed across the development as part of the council’ s wider approach to low-carbon housing delivery.
As the project enters its final stages, internal finishes, external works and landscaping are advancing across the site. Roads, parking areas and communal spaces are also being completed ahead of the first residents moving into the homes.
