Jchell : What was it like starting out as a singer / songwriter ? Chill Cortez : It was fun . I loved doing it , and I still do . When I found that black notebook in my last class , I originally started to draw in it . Then GOD gave me the brilliant idea to write raps instead ! From that day , I started writing everywhere -- in class , on the bus , in the bathroom , EVERYWHERE !! LOL .
Jchell : Does it feel like work for you when you write songs , or is it something that
tends to come naturally ? Chill Cortez : It comes naturally . It ’ s crazy because I ’ ll get ideas at 3 or 4 AM , wake up -- crusty eyes and all -- and write or make a beat like it ’ s nothing .
