Interview with Hip Hop Artist Chill Cortez

have been knowing Chill Cortez for a little over a year. I initially met him on Instagram to discuss a music video. Over time I enjoyed reading his inspirational quotes, talking to him about his passion for music, and discussing his upcoming projects. Chill Cortez is young and talented, but he has an old soul. I definitely see him growing and making strides in the music industry. Here is his interview.
Jchell: Where are you from? Chill Cortez: I’ m originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina, but I’ ve also lived in Georgia, Florida, and Germany during my childhood.
Jchell: Where did you attend high school / college? Chill Cortez: I attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School( graduated in 2008), and I attended Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.
Jchell: What is your favorite genre of music? Chill Cortez: I love all types of music, but hip-hop is my absolute favorite!!
Jchell: How long have you been a singer / songwriter? Chill Cortez: I first started writing music when I was in 5th grade.
Jchell: Who or what first got you involved with being a singer / songwriter? Chill Cortez: I always wanted to make music. Music was always around me-- from my uncles playing OutKast, to my dad playing Snoop and Dre, to my mom playing
