Courses are offered free of charge to students who have shown an advanced proficiency in a subject and require a higher level of instruction. An interview and application may be required as presented in the course description. Course instructors tend to have been employed in a field at a young age: for example, our AP Creative Writing instructor was first published at the age of 17. Students will learn the advantages and disadvantages of early entry into a field, post-secondary education, organization, marketing, and industry standards. These courses are perfect for the student who is currently “ahead of the class”, as well as the student who feels ahead of the class and, out of boredom, is beginning to fall behind. MUSICAL THEORY (MUSI) Students enrolled in MUSI, II, III, AND IIII will learn the elements of musical theory, including vocal and ear training. Musical history, classical composers, and the work of contemporary artists will also be examined and appreciated. Students who wish to learn an instrument may add instrumental instruction to the course by contacting one of our approved music instructors. 3
