A Tweet Too Far! - Developing Social Media, Dress Code,
Flex Hour & More Guidelines For Your Company
Thanks to social media, we seem to be opening up and freely
discussing topics, such as politics, in the public space where we
might not have done so in the recent past. When an employee posts
something offensive or derogatory , HR professionals are often on
the front line of protecting the employer’s brand. Hiring managers
also may be expected to act as defenders of the company if a
candidate’s online posts have the potential to reflect poorly on the
organization. As people conduct more business and socializing online,
Face book and Twitter have become 21st century water coolers,
where workers flock to catch up on the latest gossip, joke and vent.
But in today’s hyper connected culture, an online comment or photo
can spread like wildfire from one co-worker to another and then
to multitudes of strangers. When employees misstep, the gaffes
are usually due to “a lack of awareness” as opposed to malice. But
what rights do you have to protect your company? Can you legally
use Social Media to check up on potential or current employees?
Join us for a lively discussion, real life examples and walk away with
guidance from a seasoned HR Practicioner whose goal is to help you
feel more confident and comfortable blazing trails in to this new
frontier!

Cultivating a WOW Service Culture
Satisfying your customers isn’t good enough in today’s competitive
markets. Meeting their needs falls short of earning their loyalty
and turns your business into a commodity where only Price is
important. Winning the competitive battle demands that customers
be “dazzled”; left “breathless” whenever they engage with your
organization. The challenge is to build an organizational culture that
serves the customer in every way. Not one that pushes products
and services at them. Not one that forces them to engage with
the organization in an unfriendly way. And not one that channels
customer calls to a call center in some remote part of the world
where communicating in the home language of the customer is a
challenge for the call center reps.
Participants will explore three simple ideas to help attract employees
who love to serve, identify and get rid of rules that prevent great
employees from doing the “right thing” and -- wait for it--learn to
love mistakes and benefit from them!
