Economics
The department of economics provides training and conducts research in topics ranging from money and banking, to health economics, to the history of economies and of economic ideas. Many scholars in the department focus their research on policy challenges related to sustainability, inequality, and economic globalization. Students majoring in economics have the opportunity to participate in original research on these and other pressing economic issues through internships with local businesses and policy research groups. Students may also enroll in the department’ s emphasis track in“ Statistical Analysis for Economics,” which incorporates a two-course sequence focused on research projects and presentations carried out in collaboration with government and non-profit groups.
