His role has been to check Quality Management Systems and ensure the companies are in compliance with European standard ISO 9001 certificates. Solar Farm Landscape and Visual Assessment Across the UK The landscape team at CEL have recently been involved in the preparation of landscape and visual assessments for eight solar farm schemes acro ss the UK fo r two commercial developers including sites in Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and South Wales. Sites include a scheme in the Forest of Dean for over 20,000 panels, which was recently consented by the Local Planning Authority. The developments ranged in size up to 15 hectares, with some of the developments being screened as nonEIA and others identified to require an EIA by Local Planning Authorities. CEL have also worked closely with Cultural Heritage consultants in the selection of viewpoints for photomontage visualisations and have also designed landscape and ecology mitigation proposals. The developments range from well screened sites on relatively flat land contained by mature planting with minimal intervisibility to the surrounding landscape, to more challenging sites on sloping land which have a greater visibility from the surrounding landscape. We will be keeping in close touch with progress on the projects as they progress through the planning system.
