Earlier this year Land Rover, with its launch of the‘ Landy &
Rover’ campaign, came in with the Land Rover Pet Packs. Pet lovers had been longing for this opportunity for quite some time now. These Pet Packs were introduced at the Chinese New Year and include accessories believed to make life exciting for pets while they are travelling, thus making the life of pet owners easier too. The concept was to initiate holidaying with pets.
The iconic model, Land Rover Discovery, was said to be available with a feature called Rear Height Adjust, which can make life easier for canine companions. The Rear Height Adjust system uses an electronic air suspension that lowers or raises the height of the vehicle, giving enough space to make it easier for smaller or older dogs to climb in, while the Pet Pack guards the boot from wet paws and fur with a waterproof rubber mat or liner tray. The carpet on the boot floor is covered with the rubber mat and the liner tray has a raised lip on three sides to protect the floor and side walls.
Land Rover has had an association with manufacturing pet-friendly accessories so as to assist in comfortable travel for both dog and owner. The British brand, in collaboration with Barbour, recently launched a campaign called‘ Landy & Rover’, featuring two owned dogs‘ Landy’ and‘ Rover’ exhibiting Land Rover pet-friendly accessories.
IKEA’ s Lurvig Collection for Pets
The Collection also includes a shallow slow-feed bowl specifically designed for dogs to eat slowly, so they don’ t gulp down their meal within seconds.
Meanwhile, the cats get scratching mats that can be wrapped around the legs of beds / couches / chairs / tables. Cat homes and cat nooks have been customized to fit into cabinets / book shelves without compromising with the feline need to curl up on something in a corner, in order to comply with their security issues and a desire to be left alone at times!
The Collection also has specially designed play tunnels, cat litter trays, collars, travel baskets, brushes, toys, colourful poo bags, and bag dispensers.‘ They [ pets ] teach us respect, and their love is priceless,’ says Bermudez, rightly having the last word.
Last year, Swedish furniture brand IKEA launched its‘ Lurvig collection’ that included its first pet-friendly furniture designs. Inma Bermudez, a Valencia-based designer in collaboration with IKEA and Veterinarian Barbara Schaefer, promoted this 62-piece collection, taking into account the different behaviour types and habits of the four-legged fury friends. The collection was made available early this year at its Indian outlet in Hyderabad.
The Lurvig Collection provides luxury cushion-beds that fold out to make room for extras! These cushions fit snugly by bed / couch spaces next to the owners. The cushion bed can also be stuffed with the owner’ s old clothes so that the pet is comforted by the familiar smell! IKEA’ s trademark Klippan sofa has been modified too, to fold out for pets that love curling up on the sofa with their owners.
