Fuel Your Body

That’ s“ fuel” your body, not“ feed” your body. Often, winter weather triggers cravings for highsugar and high-fat foods. Just blame it on your genetic structure, which is engineered to go into hibernation mode. Well, there’ s no hibernating for moms, and we sure don’ t need that extra layer of fat to survive the winter.
Instead of caving in to cravings, we need to train ourselves to reach for food that energizes us instead of slowing us down. Make sure you are eating plenty of veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains. And limit( or even eliminate) the sugar. Instead of using artificial sugar substitutes, try stevia or monk fruit. They provide the sweet without the harmful side effects.

2 Declutter Something

For a mom, you’ re either making progress or falling behind. There’ s no such thing as a static life. So if you want to lift the mood and pump up the energy, then begin a new project. And there’ s nothing like a simple decluttering project to make you feel inspired and refreshed. When you
declutter your surroundings, you declutter your spirit!
Some good ideas are to take ten minutes and clean out the car or just empty out a drawer in the bathroom. You don’ t have to do anything huge. In fact, don’ t take on any huge projects. This is often a surefire way to get discouraged because starting is easy, but finishing is tough. Just choose a small project that you can complete in 10-15 minutes. And if it leads to decluttering the entire house, then all the better!

“ When you declutter your surroundings, you declutter your spirit!"

3Turn Up the Lights

If you live in a region where your days get shorter during the winter, then you may notice that you have a tendency to slow down and be less productive. We’ re moms. We love productivity.
So, when we’ re not productive, we often get discouraged.
Instead of letting the darkness slow you down, turn the tables and turn up the lights. Try replacing all the bulbs with higher wattage during the winter. And make sure windows are uncovered so you can let in as much natural light
as possible. Light helps lift your mood, so use it,
Mama!

4 Get OUtside

There’ s just something about the great outdoors that brightens you up. Try to get outside a little every single day, even if it’ s just for ten minutes.
This little bit of time will help increase all those
“ feel good” hormones in your body and lift your spirits.
Some good ideas are to go on a walk in your neighborhood, sit outside and read a book, or get on the swings at a local park( they’ re not just for kids). The important thing is to get some muchneeded sunlight. Let it shine!( Continued)
