PPG’s Community Engagement Programme was designed as an ongoing one,
encompassing a framework that addresses as many as possible of the community and
people’s needs whilst continuously focussing on the areas of:
Education - Helps young people develop interests and skills in subjects that could
equip them to succeed in the future in fields such as research and development,
manufacturing, information technology and science, technology, engineering and maths
professions.
Community Sustainability - Helps local communities meet pressing needs and
revitalises buildings and community spaces whilst supporting their employees, as they
seek to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Charity - Provides monetary support through colleagues’ fundraising and corporate
events to our charity partner ‘Prostate Cancer UK’ (2017-2019) and previously to
‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ (2014 – 2016).
What the judges said
“PPG has a fully encompassing CSR
programme with significant projects
in Education, Community and
Sustainability. Key is how the company
clearly defined the objectives
and quantified the outcome and
significant b enefits their projects
deliver. In addition, the judges
appreciated the clear explanation
of how CSR intent was delivered
through clear management structure,
execution and reporting. Notable is
not just the amount they have raised
for charity, but how some 20% of
the staff have been actively engaged
in supporting and delivering these
initiatives.”
