SME winner: HMG Paints
Paint the Town Green Campaign
HMG Paints’ “Paint the Town Green”
campaign brings colour back to the
community of Greater Manchester by
utilising HMG’s company values. With
Macmillan Cancer Support, HMG have
created a long-term partnership to show
how businesses can utilise their core
business activities to make a positive
impact in the community and within the
business itself. Using what they know best,
HMG have managed to harness their
strengths in all areas of their business to
support Macmillan Cancer Support. From
team building events that raise money
for the charity to a dedicated colour
collection, to repurposing paints, HMG
have it all covered.

What the judges said
“HMG Paints’ Paint the Town Green
campaign really stood out as being
less of an initiative and more of a
way of doing business. We were very
impressed to see this as an employee
led programme with each member
of staff actively engaged. It is a great
example how CSR programmes can
create such powerful team building
with community as a cornerstone
ethos of the business. In addition to
their impressive industry initiatives
for paint recovery and supporting
local communities in the supply
of re-manufactured paint, it is the
support of Macmillan charity that so
impressed us.”
