DTPUB Desktop Publishing ½ credit semester Grades 9 – 12 This course teaches students print and digital marketing techniques used in today’s media-driven world. The core applications are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. DTPUB2 Desktop Publishing 2 ½ credit semester Grades 10 – 12 This course expands on print and digital marketing techniques used in today's media-driven world. The core applications will be Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. This course will include web page template creation, product advertisements, product labels, and logo creation, along with many advanced publishing techniques. This course is recommended for students pursuing a career in marketing, graphic design, or digital arts. Prerequisite: Desktop Publishing 1 and Instructor Consent SPOENT Sports & Entertainment Business ½ credit semester Grades 10 – 12 This course is going to teach you the beginning fundamentals of marketing with a unique twist… it’s all about sports, entertainment, and pop culture! You will learn basic marketing strategies behind NASCAR, what an agent of a professional athlete does, what it takes to build a new football stadium, why athletes make so much money, and many other topics. This class will be a mixture of class discussion with hands-on activities to give students the feel of being a businessperson. ITES IT Essentials 1 credit year long Grades 11& 12 At the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how a computer functions and the knowledge needed to take the industry standard A+ certification exam. The first semester will focus on servicing Pentium IV PCs with hands-on emphasis in areas such as: computer hardware, installation and configuration of Windows and printing, and diagnostic evaluation of computer peripherals and components. The second semester will focus on troubleshooting and advanced PC related problems in areas such as: hard disk drive and registry recovery, virus detection, and printing and hardware installation/removal. Students completing this course receive transcripted credit from a Technical College. MSOFC Microsoft Office ½ credit semester Grades 10 – 12 This will be an addition to what is taught in 7th grade Computers. Students will also be able to get transcripted credit through a Wisconsin Technical College for this class. It will focus on Word (Mail Merge and other advanced features), Excel (complex formulas), Access, and Outlook. 21
