BUSLAW Business Law & Personal Law 1 credit year long Grades 11 & 12 This course covers an overview of the main legal principles used in the business world. Contracts, legal liabilities, employment and property law, both state and federal serve as the basis for study. This course will also help students learn how to approach a business law problem. It will familiarize the students with the areas of law that they are likely to encounter in their life, such as finance, data processing, marketing, and day-to-day life activities. This would include buying a house, dealing with credit problems, and insurance considerations. YABUS Youth Apprenticeship Business ½ credit semester Grades 11 & 12 If the student is serious about a career in the business area, then this program is for them. This program involves being enrolled in courses that allow the student to gain the competencies needed for a career in business. Business includes positions in accounting and management. Students interested in Business need to enroll in business classes. Students must complete 450 hours of work experience and attain the competencies to obtain the Business Youth Apprenticeship Certificate. Students that are interested in this program must contact the Guidance Office for an application form and to be enrolled initially, pending employment. 22
